The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) and Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven presented the 13th Annual Robert  J. LeFloch Memorial Golf Outing to benefit Habitat and the CBC Scholarship Fund on Monday, October 6, at the Golf Course at Yale.

A group of hardy individual and team hikers tackled Sleeping Giant during the Hike for Humanity fundraiser on Saturday, May 3, in spite of less than ideal weather. Their efforts raised $2,124 for Habitat. The event was organized by Sleeping Giant Build, which is sponsoring their first Habitat homebuilding project

Channel 8’s Geoff Fox presented awards to the top three fundraising teams and individuals at a post-hike recognition ceremony. He had promoted the Hike during his broadcasts, which helped advertise the event.

A Big Thank You goes to Archie Moore’s Bar & Restaurant, New Haven, for the generous donation of gift certificates for the awardees.

Habitat is also grateful to the Quinnipiac University Habitat Club which offered support and contributed their face painting talents. Students from Hamden High and North Haven High brought helping hands and lots of enthusiasm.

Habitat thanks Thyme & Season in Hamden for donating packets of trail snacks and Poland Spring in North Haven for donating bottled water for the hikers. Whitney Donut in Hamden got everyone off on the right foot with a supply of coffee and donuts.

Sleeping Giant Build plans to organize the Hike for Humanity again next year. We hope you will join us!
