Sunday, November 15 was a very special day for the family of Pedro Candelario-Cuevas and Arrelis Vazquez and their three chidren. It also marked a milestone for Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven. The dedication of 42 Dewitt Street, which was sponsored by Amity Cares, is the 72nd house that Habitat has built since the affiliate was founded in 1986.
Amity Cares has been an active Habitat house sponsor since the autumn of 2004. Businesses, faith groups, civic organizations, student groups and individuals from the communities of Woodbridge, Bethany, Orange and Westville have raised funds and supplied volunteer labor and materials to build three Habitat homes in New Haven.
