Sleeping Giant Build will hold its annual West Rock Challenge: 9-mi and 5km Runs for Humanity on Sunday, August 19, at Lake Wintergreen, West Rock Ridge State Park, Main Street, Hamden. The 5km race will begin at 8:30am; the 9-miler will begin at 8:45am. Runners can pre-register on RunReg.com.

Now in its fourth year, the West Rock Challenge continues to grow in popularity, drawing runners from all over the state and beyond. Proceeds from the race will help support Sleeping Giant Build’s next Habitat project. Since 2008, SGB has built three new Habitat homes and is currently restoring a turn-of-the-century farmhouse in Hamden as its fourth project.
