Habitat for Humanity GNH will participate in National Women Build Week May 9-13. Every year, we recruit teams of women to work on our construction projects. Men are also welcome to join our teams! The program has been an amazing success for us and is very popular with both our individual and group volunteers.
National Women Build Week is supported by Lowe’s, which donates $5,000 to Habitat affiliates that participate.
Some key points about the event:
- Habitat for Humanity’s 10th annual National Women Build Week, from May 6-14, invites women to devote at least one day to help build decent and affordable housing in their local communities.
- Habitat’s National Women Build Week is a nationwide initiative of its Women Build program developed in partnership with Lowe’s.
- Lowe’s donated nearly $2 million to support Habitat’s 2017 National Women Build, which will take place in 300 communities nationwide.
- More than 17,000 women, including Lowe’s Heroes volunteers from across the country, are expected to volunteer at construction sites as part of Habitat’s 2017 National Women Build Week.
No construction skills are necessary to participate in this year’s project. To volunteer or donate, email Ellen McNally, Habitat GNH Volunteer Coordinator, at email@example.com. For more information on National Women Build Week, visit Habitat.org/wb.
