Greater New Haven Habitat for Humanity

Court-Ordered Community Service

Habitat accepts a limited number of individuals who must fulfill a court-ordered community service requirement. The maximum number of hours we can accommodate is 100. Unless you have significant construction experience, you are most likely going to be assigned to work at our ReStore, 286 South Colony Road, Wallingford.

We do both criminal and sex offender background checks.

We do not place anyone charged with or convicted of a felony.

We do not accept applicants specifically charged with or convicted of the following:

  • Sex offenses
  • Domestic violence
  • Assault
  • Possession of drugs or controlled substances with or without intent to sell
  • Larceny/theft/burglary of any sort/breaking and entering
  • Arson
  • Violation of probation

Other non-felony offenses will be considered on a case by case basis.

Please contact Ellen McNally, Volunteer Coordinator, at (203) 785-0794 or emcnally@habitatgnh.org to discuss your community service requirement.
