Introduction to Volunteering

Every year volunteers contribute over 2,500 hours of time, either individually or as part of a group, to help Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven accomplish its goal of eliminating poverty housing in the New Haven area.

Volunteers participate in a large range of activities on behalf of HfHGNH, including volunteering on our construction sites or in the office, serving on one of our committees or working on special events.

We are closely monitoring the health information about COVID-19. In order to help protect other volunteers, Habitat homeowners, and staff, we are cancelling all volunteer opportunities at the build site and ReStore effective immediately through April 12. We will re-evaluate the information at that time.

For specific questions about volunteering as an individual or as a group, please contact Allison Mangles, Director of Family Services and Volunteer Engagement, at or (203) 785-0794, x.110.
