Due to COVID-19 we currently do not have opportunities for community service available at our ReStore but our build sites are open to volunteers. We will update this page when we are ready to bring volunteers back to the ReStore.

Please contact Allison Mangles, Director of Family Services and Volunteer Engagement, at (203) 785-0794 ext. 110 or amangles@habitatgnh.org to discuss your community service requirement prior to registering for a volunteer shift. She will determine if hours can be completed with the organization and review the procedures for court-ordered community service. Please note that last minute requests for community service cannot be accommodated and hours must be completed a minimum of three business days (Monday-Friday) before a letter or form is needed for court. If hours are not completed within that time-frame we cannot guarantee that you will receive your letter before your court date.

Once a volunteer is approved to complete court-ordered community service s/he may sign up for volunteer shifts at the ReStore or at the build site, as directed.

The majority of our opportunities for community service are at our ReStore, located at 286 South Colony Road in Wallingford. The ReStore is open seven days a week and full and half day shifts are available. ReStore volunteers assist customers, move furniture, and create displays on the sales floor. Construction site opportunities may be available depending on our group volunteer schedule. The construction staff is on site Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Individuals must volunteer for the entire day.
