Sleeping Giant Build Receives Gift from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
Sleeping Giant Build, a community build under Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven, has been fortunate to receive donations for several years from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in the Archdiocese of Hartford. This fall, they received a donation of $10,000, the largest donation to date. Sleeping Giant Chair Arnie Cary and Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven Board Member Don Deloge accepted the donation from Archbishop Leonard P. Blair at a ceremony this past September. Funds are distributed from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal based on recommendations from local parishes. Clergy at Divine Mecy Parish in Hamden have submitted Sleeping Giant Build for several years. Sleeping Giant Build used these funds as part of their sponsorship of 55 Redfield Street, the Hickman family’s home, which was dedicated in October. Thank you to Divine Mercy Parish and the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal for helping to fund Sleeping Giant Build’s tenth Habitat home!
