Applications for the Homeownership Program Available August 11-22

Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven offers a Homeownership Program that will prepare individuals and families to purchase their first home. Some members of the Homeownership Program may choose to purchase a home with Habitat for Humanity but you will also be introduced to other agencies and resources that can help you on your homebuying journey.

Please note that your application is for participation in the Homeownership Program, it is not an application for a mortgage on any Habitat home. Acceptance into the Homeownership Program does not guarantee that you will purchase a home from our organization.

Homeownership Program Presentation

Click to review the presentation on the Homeownership Program in English or in Spanish and learn more about the program.

The application will be available in a link within the presentation.

Please pay careful attention to the program requirements and fully review the presentation.

Applications are available through August 22 at 5 p.m. All completed applications must be submitted to our office at 37 Union Street, New Haven by August 29 at 5 p.m.

Individuals and families accepted into the Homeownership Program will take classes and participate in sweat equity hours. This will prepare you for making decisions about purchasing your own home.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven considers applicants for acceptance into the Homeownership Program without regard to race, religious preference, gender, handicap, familial status, or national origin. We follow all national, state, and local laws related to fair housing, fair lending, and anti-discrimination.

Please note in accordance with these laws we cannot discuss your specific financial, familial, or housing situation without a completed application. We also cannot accept anyone into the Homeownership Program without fully reviewing an application. All decisions regarding applications will be communicated by mail and it is up to the applicant to keep their mailing address accurate and current.
